Cereal grass sources
From ChoanoWiki
King Lab
Due to changes in cereal grass availability, the King lab has used several sources of cereal grass. Each is called CGM.#, where CGM stands for cereal grass medium and the number is a label to identify the source of cereal grass.
CGM.1: the King lab's original cereal grass source: Ward's cereal grass, made by Ward's Natural Science, a division of ScholAR Chemistry. The original catalog number for CGM.1 was #9448606. This product is no longer available.
CGM.2: this cereal grass replaced CGM.1 at Ward's. After thorough testing the King lab has determined that neither Monosiga brevicollis nor Proterospongia grows well on CGM.2, so we do not use it for culture. We do not recommend using this cereal grass but if you wish to try it, the catalog number at Ward's is 944 V 8602.
CGM.3: the King lab's current source for cereal grass from Aldon, which in preliminary studies seems to behave similarly to CGM.1. We will update this page with more info as data come in. The catalog number for CGM.3 is AD-CC0245-100G.
